Sourcing Local Materials

Inhabitate take care to complete projects using the most appropriate, durable and environmentally friendly materials. For example, Golden Cypress timber, a structurally stable, rot-resistant, untreated material is one of our preferred materials that we have found to be ideal in structures like raised vegetable patches.

Water Use / Irrigation

I endeavour to create gardens that are highly efficient in terms of water usage. Combining simple irrigations systems with appropriate plant selection can produce fantastic, maintainable results with minimal ongoing resource use.

Plant Selection

One of the biggest factors in a garden's longterm viability and upkeep is the initial selection of plants. The right combination and placement of particular plants is both visually appealing and appropriate for the specific soil type, shade conditions, existing landscape features, and climate, producing a thriving garden that is easily maintained with minimal effort and cost.

Edible Gardens

Many of the projects I have worked on over the past few years have involved edible plants and areas for vegetable cultivation. Inhabitate take great pride in establishing gardens that not only look great, but can cut down the grocery bill on a regular basis.
